    "description": "<p>This book presents the results of the colloquium \u201cRicerche Archeologiche alla Foce del Tevere\u201d which was held on 18-20th December 2018 in Rome and Ostia. It provided young researchers with the opportunity to present their own research on ancient Ostia and the surrounding territory to the scientific community. The collection of papers presented here shows new evidence, new analysis tools, new approaches and new questions. The contributors have used the latest technologies and scrutinized archival records which are a valuable source of information that remain often unpublished. The scale and range of the analyses are impressive, from the molecular identification of pigments, to the remote-sensing study of broad swathes of the Ostian landscape. The chronological spread is also notable, from the late 6th-5th centuries BCE to the 5th-early 6th centuries CE. These proceedings are divided into four parts showing broad-ranging subjects: the first part tackles Ostian urbanism and territory; the second building activities from designing to decorating; the third religion; and the fourth archaeological finds.</p>\n<p>Cet ouvrage pr\u00e9sente les r\u00e9sultats du colloque \u00abRicerche Archeologiche alla Foce del Tevere\u00bb qui s'est tenu du 18 au 20 d\u00e9cembre 2018 \u00e0 Rome et \u00e0 Ostie : cette rencontre offrit aux jeunes chercheurs l'opportunit\u00e9 de pr\u00e9senter \u00e0 la communaut\u00e9 scientifique leurs propres recherches sur la ville antique d\u2019Ostie et le territoire environnant. La s\u00e9rie d'articles pr\u00e9sent\u00e9e ici met en \u00e9vidence de nouvelles pi\u00e8ces \u00e0 conviction, de nouveaux outils d'analyse, de nouvelles approches et de nouvelles questions. Les contributeurs ont utilis\u00e9 les technologies les plus r\u00e9centes ou propos\u00e9 de nouvelles lectures de la documentation d'archives, qui reste une source pr\u00e9cieuse d'informations, souvent in\u00e9dites. L'ampleur et la port\u00e9e des analyses sont consid\u00e9rables, de l'identification mol\u00e9culaire de pigments \u00e0 l'\u00e9tude de larges pans du territoire d\u2019Ostie en utilisant les m\u00e9thodes du <em>remote-sensing</em>. L'arc chronologique est \u00e9galement vaste, depuis la fin du VIe -Ve si\u00e8cles av. J.-C. jusqu'au Ve-d\u00e9but du VIe si\u00e8cles ap. J.-C.
