    "annotation": "<p>There was something very familiar about that chest. It had a solid iron lock on it. I bent forward. It wasn't locked. The carving on the side of the chest drew me in, so I pushed the velvet blanket further up the top. I reached out to touch the carving of two people. Their hands were reaching out toward each other but weren't touching. I didn't know why, but as I drew closer, I was overwhelmed by despair. As soon as I touched the chest, an electrical jolt hit me and it knocked me backward. I groaned as I hit the floor. Shaking my head, I looked up at the night sky. I definitely wasn't in the attic anymore. But where was I? Had I been knocked unconscious? Or was this just another dream?</p>",
