Het is tevens de voltooiing van de groeibriljant waar hij sinds zijn romandebuut in 2003 aan gewerkt heeft. Eerder schreef hij de romans A.U.T.O.B.I.O.G.R.A.F.I.E. (2003), Hosselen (2009) en de dichtbundels  De Aquaholist (2005), Tot hier en verder (2013) en Regen (2015).",
