    "annotation": "Over het boek: \n\nDe volledige opbrengst van dit boek, dat ge\u00efllustreerd is door internationale, hedendaagse kunstenaars, waaronder Liu Ye, Yin Kun, Belinda Eaton, Jeroen Krabb\u00e9 en Herman van Veen gaat uit naar een Middle School in \u00e9\u00e9n van de armste gebieden van China, namelijk Yunnan.\nDe minderheidsleerlingen, die opgroeien in boeren gezinnen, worden vaak van school gehaald vanwege de moeilijkheden thuis. \nDe Stichting Maande Middle School wil hen steun bieden, zodat zij hun opleiding kunnen afronden.\n\n\nOver het verhaal: \n\nVlak voor de meivakantie ontploft er een landmijn in de buurt van een Frans dorpje aan de voet van de Mont Blanc, waar Fleur en haar vrienden wonen. \nFleur vindt een papier met daarop de samenstelling en ontploffingstijden van de mijn, waardoor zij er zeker van is dat deze niet afkomstig is uit de Tweede Wereldoorlog, maar met voorbedachte raden in het bos is geplaatst. \n\nOmdat de politie hier niets van wil weten, besluit Fleur de formules met haar vrienden te ontrafelen en ontdekken ze dat er een opening in de bergwand van de Mont Blanc naar Haruba is ontstaan, een mythologisch rijk, dat volgens oude legenden ooit deel had uitgemaakt van de Aarde, maar zich vele jaren voor Christus op onverklaarbare wijze had afgezonderd wegens een meningsverschil.\n\nBij aankomst in Haruba lijkt de wereld niet veranderd te zijn, ondanks de tijd die er verstreken is. Terwijl er op Aarde vele oorlogen hebben plaatsgevonden tussen landen, is Haruba nog steeds een vreedzaam geheel dat geregeerd wordt door een enkel koningshuis. \n\nToch blijkt dit een desillusie te zijn, wanneer ze vernemen dat het land door een vijand bedreigd wordt, afkomstig van de Aarde. Desmarais wil niet alleen de kostbare grondstoffen in zijn bezit krijgen, maar ook de macht over het rijk en is in staat de vreedzame bevolking met geweld te onderdrukken. Daarom besluiten Fleur en haar vrienden de Harubianen te helpen, hoe gevaarlijk en moeilijk die onderneming ook zal zijn.",
    "description": "About the book: <br/><br/>The entire profits of this novel, which is illustrated by international, contemporary artists, including Liu Ye, Yin Kun, Belinda Eaton, Jeroen Krabb\u00e9 and Herman van Veen, will go to a Middle School in one of the poorest areas of China, namely Yunnan.<br/>The students from Chinese minorities who grow up in the countryside, have so many problems at home that they are often obliged to quit school early.<br/>The fund \u2018Stichting Maande Middle School\u2019 wants to support them so they can finish their education.<br><br>About the story: <br/><br/>Just before spring break Fleur witnesses a mine exploding in a French town, at the foot of Mont Blanc, where she and her friends live. <br/>Fleur comes across a paper that has the composition and time of the mine\u2019s detonation written upon it. This convinces Fleur into believing that the mine didn\u2019t originate from the Second World War, but that it was deliberately planted in the forest.<br/><br/>When the police makes it abundantly clear that they don\u2019t buy Fleur\u2019s theory, she and her friends decide to unravel the formulas themselves and thus discover a crack in Mont Blanc, which serves as a passageway to Haruba. Haruba is a mythological realm that according to old legends used to be part of the Earth, but inexplicably separated itself from the Earth many years before Christ, after the two ruling kings had had a dispute.<br/><br/>After arriving in Haruba, the friends find a world seemingly untouched by time. While the Earth has known many wars, Haruba has remained a peaceful unity, governed by only one royal house. <br/><br/>Haruba\u2019s peace however, is about to be rudely disrupted when it is threatened by an enemy from the Earth. Desmarais is not only after Haruba\u2019s valuable natural minerals, but he also seeks to gain power over the kingdom and is willing and ready to forcefully suppress the peaceful Harubians.<br/>Therefore, Fleur and her friends decide to assist the Harubians, no matter how dangerous this quest will be.",
