Later he would break away from the church.<br />\n<br />\nHimmler and his SS are responsible for the murders of 6 million Jews. The Allied Forces knew more about this during the war than they care to admit, since the British had broken the SS-codes.<br />\n<br />\nHimmler was heavily involved in the state-of-affairs of the Netherlands and Belgium. However, he clashed with NSB-collaborator Mussert and several Flemish collaborators. They, unlike Himmler, did not wish to see the Netherlands and Belgium completely immersed in the Third Reich.<br />\n<br />\nAn often overlooked aspect of the \u2018Reichsf\u00fchrer-SS\u2019 is his fascination with Eastern religions and Islam. Astrology and the occult spoke to him as well.<br />\n<br />\nWhat fascinated Himmler about the Islam was the contempt for death that Islamic warriors showed when they marched to die as martyrs. Himmler\u2019s best friend was Haj Amin Al-Husseini, the Grand Mufti of Jeruzalem.",
